Statement der Band:

We are devastated but we have to inform you that we have to cancel the German leg of the Bloom-Tour for February 2022.  This was our biggest fear as a band. Since the release of ‘In A Box’ and the tour we wanted to go on in 2020 we were waiting impatiently for our very first headline tour ever. But the pandemic created a situation which is hard to control 100% and that leads to an artist and their team having to organize and reorganize studio time, shootings and live shows over and over again.  

 We spent the past couple of months preparing every detail of this tour and kept believing in a way of touring that is as safe as possible for all of us. Even though the workload rose far over the usual amount we were 100% sure we could pull through with it until the beginning of the week.  

 After many conversations with our partners in booking we decided to cancel all German dates without postponing for now.

 You can get your money back from your retailers, just contact them and you will get your money back. If you have any further questions about this don’t hesitate to write to us.  By early 2022 we will sit down together with our booking agency and try to find new dates for Germany asap - we will let you know first!  

 You all know that artists can barely survive without the live sector so it’s becoming harder and harder for all musicians worldwide to make a living from their jobs. If you feel the need to support your favorite artists (whoever they are) the best way right now is to buy merchandise, CDs & vinyls. There are so many bands and artists who have to cancel what brings them the most money: live shows.  

 We know it’s so annoying that everyone seems to shout at you trying to convince you to consume their goods & services but by the end of the pandemic there has to be services, there has to be art, there has to be music again.  

 We want to thank all of our partners who worked their a**es off the whole year to make this possible. Thank you for believing in us during these times, you deserve all the love.  These are tough times, let’s all hope for the best.

Es könnte eines der vielversprechensten Platten des Jahres werden: KID DAD veröffentlichten am 21. August 2020 ihr Debüt ›In A Box‹ über Long Branch Records. Ein Album, dessen Vorreiter-Singles uns halfen durch die vergangenen ›Coronamonate‹ zu kommen und viel wichtiger: Mit großen Momenten für Fans von Alternative Rock, Grunge und Emo aufwarteten.

KID DAD, bestehend aus Frontmann Marius Vieth (Vocals/Guitar), Maximilian Alexander Zdunek (Bass/Backing Vocals), Michael Reihle (Drums) und Joshua Meinert (Guitar), gründeten sich 2016 im beschaulichen Paderborn und bezeichnen ihre Musik selbst als ›Sad

Music‹. Inspiriert von großen Genre-Helden wie Radiohead, Placebo oder The Pixies, spielen sich KID DAD auf Stücken wie ›A Prison Unseen‹ wahrlich in Trance, begeistern mit außergewöhnlichen Soundwänden, atmosphärischen Gitarren-Sounds und einem hochpersönlichen Songwriting, welches das Gefühl von Hoffnungslosigkeit in all seinen Nuancen einfängt.

Damit es ihrem Albumdebüt an Nichts fehlt, ließen KID DAD keine Möglichkeit aus, um an den Songs und Details zu arbeiten und diese weiterzuentwickeln. ›In A Box‹ wurde deshalb mitunter auf expliziten »Songwriting-Reisen« durch England, China und der Schweiz geschrieben, auch in Berlin wurde an der Platte intensiv gearbeitet. Sänger Marius: »Es war ein großer Spaß unter diesen verschiedenen Bedingungen zu arbeiten. Du absorbierst alles um dich herum, wenn du jung bist – das machte ich mir zu nutze.«

»›In A Box‹ ist zweideutig«, fährt er fort und sinniert über den Titel des Albums. »Ist die Kiste dein Gefängnis oder dein Versteck? Wirst du klaustrophobisch, wenn du daran denkst, in einer geräuschlosen, zufälligen, dunklen Kiste zu sitzen, oder wünscht du dir sogar, an einem solchen Ort zu sein? Menschen haben darauf keine klare Antwort. Es sind verschiedenste Momente, Gefühle oder Handlungen, die jeden von uns anders reagieren und fühlen lassen. Hin- und hergerissen zwischen Angst und Sehnsucht sagen wir jedem von

euch, was wir fühlen und wie weitreichend diese Gefühle in diesem Album sind.«
